As you can see, we have about a foot of snow! The Bay has not yet frozen, but Margaret is already singing one of her favorite sultry Christmas Oldies, "Santa, Baby, slip a sable under the tree for me."
Yes, that is Marie's most favorite Christmas music, too! Other than The Nutcracker, that is.
It's almost the New Year, and we have lots of news! First, the bricks are almost finished! Just a few more . . . weeks(?).
Next, we are expecting (to be grandparents)! More on that next spring! But please do not call Marie "Grandma." She is trying to convince our daughters that she should be called "Grandmere," the French version of "Grandmother." For the nickname, she would like our grandchildren to call us, "Mere-Mere," and "Pere-Pere."
As you are aware, Marie is pretty strong-willed. But is she stronger-willed than our daughters? We shall see if it will be "Mere-Mere Marie," or "Grandma Marie."
In other news, we joined the Michigan Bed and Breakfast Association, also known as Michigan Lake to Lake. We passed their rigorous inspection, and we look forward to meeting new guests, as well as fellow innkeepers, by affiliating with them.
Plus, we changed our phone number, which you can always find on our website. In case you want to put it in your contacts list, it is (231) 846-3031. This was part of the requirements for joining the Michigan Bed and Breakfast Association. We had to have a house phone, in case of emergency. This number will ring both the house and Marie's cell phone.
We also added online booking to our website, to make it easier for you to check availability, and to make reservations. If you've already reserved for next year, you don't need to reserve again. But if you haven't, try out our new secure online reservation feature.
Our sincere wishes for a beautiful, relaxing holiday season. We are so grateful to have you in our lives.
Marie and Ted
